DO YOUR HOMEWORK:

Use the Internet:
•    to find a charities rating
•    to find out the organization’s mission and key goals – do you agree with the goals and mission?
•    to find out who is on the organization’s board (could there be a conflict of interest with any of the members of the board?)
•    to read the financial statements, especially the IRS Form 990 which will help you find out how they use money they collect.
