About Your 2009 Taxes
Date Posted: Apr 07, 2009
1. Make a folder for your 2009 income taxes (I use an
accordion folder). Each time you receive
something pertaining to your income taxes, put it in the folder. When it's time
to do your 2009 taxes, you'll have what you need in one
place. This is a big time saver!
(This week, I received my new car license tag sticker. I put
the sticker on the car license plate and put the receipt in the
2009 folder, so I'll have the Ad Valorem tax information where I
need it).
2. Keep track of your donations. Have a box for items
you want to donate, perhaps in your garage or other convenient
location. Place a sheet of paper and a pen in the box. Each time you run across an item to donate, put
it in the box and list the item and its value on the paper. When the box is full, take it to your favorite charity. Take the receipt, staple it to your itemized list and put it in your 2009 tax folder. Repeat for each
box of donations.
